A dinner bell is a real conversation starter! Everyone has a plate, but do you have the bell?

The bell is about 6-3/4 inches high and 3-1/4 inches wide.

At this time we are not sure if there are different varieties of hostess bells.

One version of the bell, on the inside, says “Christmas 1979″. If you have a picture let us know.

This stunningly beautiful glass vase is about 8 inches high and 4-1/2 inches across the top. It will look lovely almost anywhere in your home.

The prices we have seen are most commonly in the range between $8 and $10. But it can be hit or miss, and sometimes you get lucky. Some vases have been seen going for less than a dollar when there is an overlooked auction.

The overall look and condition of the vase, quality and reputation of the seller, the time of the year (such as the holiday season), whether an original Avon box comes with the vase, etc., can have a significant impact on price.

This lovely addition to your home measures almost 11 inches in diameter and 3-1/2 inches in height.

I have a pedestal cake plate in my home. It is a very beautiful piece of art always on display, and it works wonderfully on special occasions to wow the guests when something is served on it.

The cake plate is often packaged and sold with a dessert server as shown in this picture:

The most common prices we have seen are between $30 and $70 just for the cake plate. However, we have also seen it sold for up to $100. At times, these beautiful and large items can be hard to find.

Many different variables of course come into play and will have a significant impact on the price, such as the condition of the item, reputation of the seller, the need to absolutely have the item, the time of the year (such as Christmas), whether an original Avon box is included, etc.

It is going to be quite the task to try and catalog all of them, but that will be the ultimate goal.

Any vintage Avon Barbie doll is a collectible. Every new Avon Barbie doll is a collectible in waiting. If you are starting a collection you may want to try and collect. Many Avon Barbie dolls are exclusive to Avon, which can make them rarer and harder to find than Barbie dolls that lined store shelves from coast to coast.

As with any collectible the better the condition of the doll, and its rarity, will have a significant affect on price. Some dolls are worth hundreds of dollars. Some even more. It’s not just a hobby – it’s an investment. But a very fun and enjoyable one.

If you want collectible Avon treasures the Avon Collectible Shop specialty website is the place to start your search. Then you can find information about products to buy on secondary sites such as e*Bay.

The decision by Avon to limit their products is an interesting one since there is such a high demand for Avon collectibles.

Recently Avon also drastically reduced its number of referral partners.

If this seems counterintuitive you are not the only one questioning the strategy. Especially when one considers the substantial number of collectibles and future collectibles to be sold during the holiday season.

Avon’s stock has underperformed for years and has seen a recent dramatic slide in value. According to news reports Avon has been the subject of a broadening bribery probe in numerous countries, and in late 2011 the United States Securities & Exchange Commission began an investigation into the bribery issue as well as whether there have been improper company contacts with financial analysts who report on the condition of the company.

What does this mean for you and other collectors?

In the long term it means new collectibles are not entering the market. Due to breakage, hoarding, and a steady increase in people interested in collecting Avon, there will likely be increased demand in the future for a more limited supply of collectibles.

You already know the result: higher prices. Especially for the most desirable, mint condition items.

Now may be an excellent opportunity for you to get wonderful Avon collectible items. Down the road, you may find that wonderful item which was passed on is simply no longer available.
